Previously, our QC grow light was characterized by a board shape with numerous blue and red LED chips and excellent heat dissipation, as the mainboard not only contained the circuitry but also assisted in cooling. We have now upgraded the QC series, renaming it as the QP series.
Over the past two years, we have received extensive customer feedback and suggestions. Thank you for helping inspire our product design. Based on your practical usage, the main upgrade to the QP grow light includes the addition of white LED chips.
Since plants also need other wavelengths for growth, users wanted us to expand the spectrum. According to the latest research, other wavelengths (such as green and ultraviolet light) also benefit plants. One key finding is the role of green light in penetrating chloroplasts, which led ICEVER to consider adding white light chips. Currently, some chip companies are already researching and producing plant-specific white LEDs.
For green light, considering plant needs, green light also significantly protects human eyes. A passage from Christopher H. Sloper highlights this: Blurple is really bad for humans. Our eyes use red, green, and blue cones to perceive colors, with peak sensitivity at 555nm (green) during the day. When there’s no green in our view, our eyes try to adjust to almost full dilation, which unfortunately allows blue light to reach the retina fully.
With these considerations, we believe that adding white light will help the grow lights better simulate sunlight and provide stronger illumination. More information and data are available in the QP series introduction (Section 2: Advantages). You can click here to view the webpage.
For UV light, it may also help plants, but currently, adding UV is not practical. Firstly, it’s already common in daily life. In another way, UV chip lifespan is short and interacts with our waterproof layer—UV is hard to penetrate waterproof materials and accelerates their aging. ICEVER may add UV in the future, but we are still looking for suitable methods.
Thank you for all your advice, we are happy to continue hearing feedback from you. ICEVER provides ODM/OEM services for high-quality grow lights, using top-tier chips from Samsung, Osram, and Seoul and offering various spectra suited to cannabis cultivation.
